TCT Successfully Delivers Vision Testing for Standard Four Pupils
Date06 Aug 2025

In a remarkable demonstration of community support and dedication to education, TCT recently conducted vision testing for all Standard Four pupils in six primary schools located within its targeted communities. The participating schools include Lentswe le Moriti, Motlhabaneng, Mathathane, Mabolwe, Semolale and Gobojango. A total of 319 pupils were screened and only one pair of glasses was required in contrast to the ten pairs issued in 2024.

This vision testing program is particularly vital in rural areas where access to professional optometry services is often limited due to geographic and financial barriers faced by many families. By providing these essential screenings, TCT aims to not only identify and address vision issues early but also to promote overall academic performance and well-being among students.

Looking ahead, TCT has scheduled the next vision testing exercise for 2026. During this upcoming event, the Standard Four students of that year will have the opportunity to undergo similar screenings, replacing this year's pupils as they advance to Standard Five. Through this ongoing effort, TCT is dedicated to promoting healthier, more informed communities that prioritize the visual health of their children.
