In a commendable act of community support, the Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) has donated new reading cubicles to the local Junior Secondary School library in Mathathane. Previously, the library had insufficient seating capacity due to the outdated and unsuitable furniture available. This limitation affected the library's ability to accommodate the current number of students in each class.
The donation from TCT now enhances the capacity of the library to host a total of 48 students, thus ensuring that all learners have access to a dedicated space for reading and studying.
Upon receiving the project, Ms. Martha Orapeleng who is the Badale Junior Secondary School Head expressed her profound gratitude towards TCT highlighting how this initiative would significantly enhance the school's performance and competitiveness within the region. "We are very thankful for this generous gift from the Tuli Conservation Trust. It has always been our dream to achieve this project, but it became impossible due to the school's financial situation," she shared. Ms. Orapeleng also noted that the design of the cubicles minimizes disruptions during study time, promoting a more effective learning environment.
Echoing her sentiments, Ms. Thandie Sethato Job, the Acting Chief Education Officer for the Bobirwa Sub-Region emphasized the importance of the reading cubicles in adding value to the institution. She stated that these improvements create a conducive environment for learners, fostering a culture of reading that is likely to positively impact the school's overall performance in the long term. Ms. Job encouraged both staff and students to take excellent care of the cubicles reminding them that they were donated with goodwill for a noble cause.
The total cost of this project amounted to P16,684.75, marking a meaningful investment in the educational future of the community.
