The Department of Forestry and Range Resources' (DFRR) District Forest and Range Resources Coordinator of the Central District, Ms. Gofetamang Phunyuka, has commended the Gobojango Community Garden for its exemplary management as a pilot project in the region. This garden is one of seven in the district that received initial funding from the Botswana Government through the agroforestry initiative and continues to stand out due to the progress made as a result of additional funding from TCT and the dedication of the Village Development Committee, which has successfully built a strong network with various stakeholders. 

During a ceremony to hand over the water reticulation enhancement project, funded by TCT in November 2024, Ms. Phunyuka expressed her satisfaction with the project's success compared to other gardens of a similar nature. "My office takes pride in the demonstration of success displayed by this community garden and this gives us something positive to report back to our head office," said Ms. Phunyuka. She pledged that her department would continue to work closely with the Gobojango Community Garden to ensure it remains a model that can inspire other communities in the region and beyond. In June 2023, subsequent to TCT's initial funding of the project, the department donated 213 fruit trees to the garden, and through effective management, the garden achieved a 99% survival rate, with only one tree having died from termites. 

On several occasions, TCT has previously supported the garden by financing the solar electrification of its boundary fence, replacement of the solar battery and assisting with improvements on the water reticulation system when there were issues with low water pressure from the main reservoir.
